1. IMMORALITY – Especially sharing partners, God Grief!
2. DRUNKENNESS – Includes drunk driving, God Grief
3. DRUG USAGE –  Not to exclude ecstasy, God Grief!
4. THEFT – Includes robbing someone of their heart (God Grief)
5. LYING – Don’t even lie to yourself (God Grief)
6. CHEATING – Can apply to taking the best piece of pie when sharing  (God Grief)
7. GAMBLING – Could also refer to taking a chance on an extreme sport where you are testing God (God Grief)
8. GOSSIPING – Like telling your best friend or family member about a demeaning perception you are getting about your soul mate (God Grief!)
9. VIOLENCE – Have you tried to just make someone cry. You don’t have to hit someone to show violence (God Grief)
10. HATRED – Because hatred induces all of the above. (God Grief!)

The point of the top 10 list of what grieves God the most is to see all the variation of perceptions and how each suggestion cause others to expound and look deeper into what just might cause grief to God. Grievious Actions

We are sometimes so wrapped up in our own grief or pleasure that we don’t consider what might cause God Grief. How God might grieve about our actions towards our fellow mankind, towards Him, or even actions we take against ourselves. (smoking, drinking or eating toxic foods anyone?) God grief.

If we were to walk in Gods shoes for just a moment, we would never sin again because our perception would change immensely.

If we deliberately sin, God is not able to answer our prayers, nor even comfort us, due to the separation the sin creates, giving ourselves and God grief.

Discipline is the path at the crossroads that lead us down the road to recovering our own self respect lost in disobedience to God.

Everyone is born with the knowledge of right and wrong. It is only our self indulgent urges that over ride that innate desire to do right. As life progresses and that habit of self indulgence burrows deeper within our soul, we become distant from God, as looking toward Him would mean giving up our own greed of  what we perceive to be rewarding. God Greif!

God Grief is where “good grief” was derived from many years ago. Possibly when the Jews were wandering around in the wilderness. I can picture Aaron exclaiming to one of his people, “Jobia, do you have to carry that 4 ft. idol every where you go? You are starting to give me the Hebi Jebis. God grief!!! Maybe later, realizing that may be blasphemous, they changed it to good greif. Grieving the Almighty is God grief, whether it is spoken as good grief or God grief.

Remember Good Grief, Charlie Brown? Many of those statements could have been God Grief instead!

  I would change number one grief we cause God to Idol worship (one is being star struck and distracted and tainted by following people like Charlie Sheen)

  1. Idol worship (as in following movie star or wishing we were one)
  2. Lack of love for our fellow man (turning away from the homeless in disgust rather than doing something to comfort them)
  3. Arrogance ( Treating others as if nothing you say will hurt them)
  These for sure cause God grief. I’ll let someone else take it from here. But wait, One more thing.
  4. Pride ( like thinking we are better than some because of our financial status or perception we are more intelligent than most.

  Thanks for the reminder that we should make an effort to find out what does grieve God. From small actions to murder. Pain is pain. The negative we dish out to God and our brothers definitely cause God Grief. The love we indulge in always rings in peace of mind and abundant rewards in naturally rejoicing.

  If you could walk like Jesus, God would walk with you. The Christ is the only way you will see an answer to what you can’t perceive. Everything else is futile. Fortunately, we have been blessed by one who has been tempted, as we have.

  I think God Greives when He see people in pain or suffering in any way. It is the duty of each of us to look for the suffering and give them the love that God has given us. He gives me the strenghth to deal with all the STUFF that the devil throws at me. ANd I know that God does greive over my sins and hurts.

    Thanks Wanda. So glad you took the time to share what you feel grieves God. You are so right, unfortunately most pain and suffering is created by us or another human in our lives, that is especially grieving God, as you said. Look at Bonnies example of Top 10 List – What Grieves God. If you want to make your own Top 10 list of what grieves God, please do. I would enjoy that very much. I think many others would too. Some people don’t want to make this list because they feel under pressure to make the very top 10 mentions of grief to God. But I am really looking for individual, off the top of the head responses, so we cover many grievances instead of the Top 10 we all think of first; Usually the 10 Commandments or closely related.
